Description/Job Summary

Provides work direction and training to the QA non-exempt production associates.  Assists the QA Supervisor and Manager.  Fills in for QA Supervisor in their absence.  

Provides work direction and training to QA non-exempt production associates.  Assist QA Supervisor with staffing of the QA department.
Ensures quality attribute checks are completed on all production lines hourly or as required by QA management.
Acts as a backup and is trained for both the QA General Laborer and HACCP Verifier positions.
Ensures HACCP and SSOP checks are completed as required by the facility’s regulatory programs.
Ensure the facility’s Pathogen Prevention Program is followed and samples are pulled as required.
Ensures hourly and daily product cook offs and cooking are completed to ensure product quality.


Assist QA Supervisor in operating the A shift QA department within Company policies and guidelines established in the quality and planning process, i.e., Perdue Quality Policy, USDA regulations, SSOP/HACCP/GMP programs, customer specifications, HR policies, etc.  Responsible for informing QA Supervisor and QA Manager of issues and gaining approval of the QA or Plant Management for any exceptions to policies in place.

Required Education

AA degree in areas of Business, Operations Management or Poultry/Food Sciences or related equivalent experience plus 2 years related experience.

Preferred Education

BS degree in Business, Operations Management or Poultry/Food Sciences plus 1-2 years experience in further processing and cooking of poultry.  Supervisory experience in QA is recommended but not required depending on education.


1. Position requires standing and/or walking for long periods of time.
2. Lifts boxes/totes weighing up to 70 lbs from a pallet 6 inches off the floor to a height approsimately 3-5 feet.
3. May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
4. In a plant environment,
  • Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • May be exposed to termperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
  • May handle product below 1 degrees and above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
  • May be exposed to all chemical found in poulty, food and processing plant.
  • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the company.
